Founder of AM Digital KE
Alvin Munene
Most SEO experts hoard knowledge like trade secrets.
I do the opposite.
I’ve spent over a decade in SEO – working with international companies like Awesome Motive (the team behind WPBeginner and All in One SEO), and managing one of their biggest brands in IsItWP. I also consult with U.S. marketing strategists, such as Chaz Edwards Local, as their Marketing Project Manager.
But here’s what sets me apart: I don’t believe in keeping clients dependent.
At AM Digital KE, we don’t just do SEO for you. We make you understand it.
Every strategy we build, we explain why. Every tactic we implement, we teach.
Because businesses that understand their SEO make better decisions, spot opportunities faster, and grow more sustainably.
Think of me as your strategic partner who happens to be obsessed with search engines.

The Origin Story
How This Started
Back in 2025, I was frustrated.
I’d been working in SEO for years – seeing what worked at the highest levels through my work with Awesome Motive and consulting projects with firms like Chaz Edwards Local. I understood technical SEO, content strategy, link building, conversion optimization. I knew the international playbook.
But when I looked at the Kenyan market, I saw two problems:
First, agencies were either copying Western SEO templates without adaptation (ignoring Kenya’s mobile-first reality, data costs, and infrastructure), or they were flying blind with no real international expertise.
Second, most agencies used complexity as a weapon. Jargon to confuse. Reports you needed a PhD to understand. Gatekeeping knowledge to keep clients dependent and paying indefinitely.
There had to be a better way.
So I founded AM Digital KE with a rebellious idea: what if we actually taught clients how SEO works? What if we brought world-class expertise but adapted it for Kenya’s reality? What if we measured success by business outcomes rather than vanity metrics?
What if we built an anti-agency agency?
That’s what we’ve been doing ever since. And it turns out, businesses love working with someone who explains things instead of mystifying them.
International Expertise, Local Understanding
The Bridge Between Two Worlds
Here’s my unfair advantage: I’ve worked on both sides of the equation.
International Experience:
- SEO Specialist at Awesome Motive – the company behind WPBeginner (WordPress education) and All in One SEO (one of the world’s most popular SEO plugins)
- Marketing strategy consultant with Chaz Edwards Local – working on positioning and growth strategies
- Implemented SEO strategies that drove 80%+ organic traffic growth within six months for eCommerce, finance, and professional services websites
- Designed link-building campaigns that earned placements on industry-leading international publications
But here’s what matters more: I don’t just import strategies. I translate them.
Western SEO assumes high-speed internet, desktop browsing, and specific buying patterns. Kenya is different. We’re mobile-first out of necessity, not preference. Data costs matter. Trust signals work differently. Search intent reflects our business culture.
So I take international best practices and adapt them for our reality:
- Mobile-first optimization that respects data consciousness
- Content that uses Kenya-specific examples and cultural references
- Local SEO strategies that account for how Kenyans actually search
- Technical optimization that works with Safaricom infrastructure, not against it
That combination – global expertise + local adaptation – is what competitors can’t replicate. International agencies don’t understand Kenya deeply enough. Local agencies don’t have access to the international playbook.
I bridge both worlds. That’s the moat.
My Educational Philosophy
Why I Teach Instead of Gatekeep
Most agencies operate on a simple business model: keep the client confused, keep them dependent, keep them paying.
I operate on the opposite principle: the smarter my clients get, the better our relationship becomes.
Here’s why:
When you understand SEO, you can:
- Spot opportunities faster than I can point them out
- Make strategic decisions without waiting for my input
- Evaluate our work objectively instead of taking my word for it
- Ask better questions that lead to better strategies
Some agencies worry this means clients will leave. My experience is the opposite – clients who understand SEO appreciate good work more, not less. They see the complexity beneath the surface and value the expertise required to execute it well.
That’s why I’ve built over 200 articles specifically for Kenyan businesses – not generic SEO advice, but content that reflects your market reality. Every definition, every how-to guide, every strategy breakdown uses Kenya-specific examples.
This isn’t just marketing. It’s my philosophy in action: knowledge should be accessible, not gatekept.
The Chess Approach
Every Piece We Move is By Design
That’s not just our tagline – it’s how I think about strategy.
In chess, random moves lose games. You need to think several moves ahead. You need to understand not just what to do, but why each move matters and how it sets up future opportunities.
The same applies to SEO.
I don’t throw tactics at the wall to see what sticks. I build systematic strategies where each element reinforces the others:
The Opening Game:
We establish strong foundations – technical SEO audit, keyword research that prioritizes search intent over search volume, content architecture that distributes authority strategically.
The Middle Game:
We execute consistently – publishing content that compounds, building links that earn authority (not buy it), optimizing conversion paths that turn visitors into customers.
The Endgame:
We position you for dominance – owning your category search space, becoming the obvious answer to customer questions, achieving sustainable competitive advantages that others can’t easily copy.
Most importantly, I teach you to see the board.
When you understand the strategy – why we’re targeting these keywords, why we’re structuring content this way, why we’re prioritizing these technical fixes – you can make better decisions whether you work with me or not.
